Sun, April 14, 9:35 to 11:05am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

This research seeks to understand the implementation of policies for inclusive education for people with disabilities during the transition from secondary school to higher education and employment in México. It uses a Vertical Case Study to analyze the actors and collaboration involved in implementing policies for inclusive education of persons with disabilities at multiple levels of implementation: the micro or local level, the meso or national level, and the macro or global level. The data collection includes a document analysis and interviews of government officials, program directors and students with disabilities. The findings demonstrate the need for collaboration across the network so that these actors both instill an inclusive culture and provide access to this education and labor practice.
