Recent attacks on Critical Race Theory (CRT) aim to limit discussion and understanding of race (and its intersection with class, gender, and power). This study examines the role of racial gaslighting in public policy discourses that surround CRT-bans while also focusing on ways of combating racial gaslighting. Focusing on early-adopting states of the bans, the findings highlight how multiple dynamics of gaslighting are deployed within political discourses and how these dynamics are countered.
