In this volume, authors incorporate an autoethnographic approach to share lessons learned as Black women deans. Here, they share insights from being the first deans of color at predominantly White institutions. Drawing from their experiences, they demonstrate how good leadership is executed in balance one decision at a time. They emphasize developing leadership skills marked by decisiveness, accountability, and allegiance to organizational goals while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
