This critical qualitative study seeks to interrogate how proposed and current gag order laws impact the lives of tenure-seeking Latinx women at public, very high research-intensive institutions in Florida and Texas. The study is situated in current political and higher education discourses to highlight how gag order laws, embedded in racist and white supremacist logic, normalize epistemic injustice against racially and minoritized communities. The researchers engage and apply testimonios as a Critical Race Feminista Methodology to not only critically analyze how post-secondary institutions implement gag order laws but further understand how Latinx women are refusing, resisting, and co-conspiring as they challenge white supremacy practices within their institutions and community.
