Exploring the Network Structure of Students’ Social and Emotional Skills (Poster 4)

Sun, April 14, 1:15 to 2:45pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to explore the network structure of students’ socio-emotional skills. We employed the network analysis approach based on secondary analyses of 6,434 students living in Houston from the OECD Survey on Social and Emotional Skills. Our results demonstrated strong associations among the skills within each dimension. Curiosity is the key skill among the 15 skills for the overall sample. The network comparison test indicated that curiosity may be more influential for males than females. The methodological and practical implications were discussed.
