This qualitative study explores teachers’ perspectives on creative teaching and the practices they perceive as exemplifying it. Interviews were conducted with 19 teachers from Taiwan’s elementary, secondary, and high schools. The findings reveal that Taiwanese teachers view creative teaching as an incremental process involving absorbing new educational concepts, adapting methods to suit students’ characteristics, and making incremental adjustments. The most recognized creative teaching practices include interactive teaching and project-based approaches. The incorporation of new teaching content, particularly with real-life connections, is also considered significant. Moreover, educational reforms have fostered a supportive and encouraging environment for creative teaching among Taiwanese educators. These findings deepen our understanding of the complexities inherent in creative teaching within the context of ongoing educational reform.
