This paper focuses on a community of practice on Transformative Student Voice (TSV) for community school coordinators (CSCs) in a Midwestern urban school district. In the community of practice, CSCs developed TSV practices that supported their youth councils with student-led projects. The community of practice became a unique space where CSCs engaged in collective healing (Ginwright, 2015), as they navigated the challenges that emerged when pushing for TSV to be prioritized as part of shared leadership in their community schools.
