Moves Toward Decolonial Writing While Writing About Decoloniality in Higher Education

Abstract

This manuscript is a storying process between six scholars from two different institutions and is about our “moves” to decolonize our writing process while writing together on the topic of decolonizing higher education. This manuscript provides insight into how we came to a point of engaging in decolonizing and Indigenizing writing practices. We draw upon Indigenous relationality and Indigenous paradox to critique westernized notions of academic writing and knowledge production and to provide insight on what it means to make moves toward decolonial writing.
