Graduate-level enrollment is on the rise in the United States, especially for Hispanic students, Asian students, and Black students. Students are eager to improve their competitiveness, advance their careers, and increase their salaries through graduate degrees as a step in upward social mobility. As graduate-level enrollment increases, higher education institutions must focus on how to serve and support their graduate students, such as master’s, doctoral, and professional students. The purpose of this study is to explore what and how institutional programming and infrastructure support minoritized graduate student success, in the context of a public higher education institution in California, utilizing the community cultural wealth framework.
