This paper explores the importance of providing resources for supporting TRIO McNair Scholars, who are first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented ethnic and racial undergraduate students preparing for graduate school. The study focuses on the implementation and evaluation of the Koru Mindfulness® Training program, which aims to enhance mindfulness and resilience among participants. The study utilized a mindfulness and psychological flexibility framework, using the evidence-based Koru curriculum with pre- and post-training assessments, observational data, and surveys to measure themes such as mindfulness and resilience. A trained facilitator delivered the program through interactive activities and reflective exercises. This type of resource is promising to enhance resilience in a community of young adults from marginalized backgrounds to optimize and maintain their wellbeing.
