Sun, April 14, 3:05 to 4:35pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

The collaboration between teachers and immigrant families of students with disabilities is essential in creating a safe and successful environment for students. In this presentation, we will discuss the findings of a qualitative study focused on teachers’ experiences working with immigrant families of students with disabilities. In addition, we will share the professional development they have received and the support they need to establish culturally responsive collaboration. We will also highlight advice that teachers have for other educators working with immigrant families.
