Black Minds M.A.T.T.E.R. Positive Youth Development Group: An Ellis–Community-Based Participatory Research (E-CBPR) Liberation Model Randomized Control Trial (RCT) Pilot

Sun, April 14, 9:35 to 11:05am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

Being black and male indicates a one in three likelihood of being incarcerated at some point in life when compared to one in 17 for White youth (Sentencing Project, 2023). This presentation plans to support practitioners in 1) exposure to a culturally responsive trauma-informed PYD group for Black youth 2) implementation of a transformative justice approach into a system when working with Black system-impacted youth, 3) radical healing approaches for Black adolescents and young adults.
