The purpose of this study is to understand from a practitioner's stance, through a mixed methods approach, what strategies and supports an administrator can utilize to increase the likelihood of retaining teachers within a high performing charter school. This approach started with a survey to over 300 teachers, followed by one-on-one interviews with 20+ teachers, a teacher focus group, and culminating with presenting to administrators within the network the ideas proposed by the teachers as identified through the survey, interviews, and contextualized through the focus group. The results are tangible supports and structures that were identified by teachers and cross-examined by administrators for feasibility on a day-to-day basis within the network.
