Prevalent institutional racism perpetuates the disconnect for students of color between their educational environment and their opportunity to feel belongingness in formal academic settings. It is of utmost importance that all students feel like they belong in their educational environments. This exploratory research study examines the experiences of educators who facilitate an equity club in their school. By utilizing qualitative interview methods, framed by an intersectionality lens, I highlight the unique lived experiences of educators facilitating equity clubs at their school. The results of this study will be used to inform and empower educators and administrators in providing the opportunity for their students to participate in an equity club at their school.
