Though community schools have been proposed as a potential method to combat the learning loss and exacerbated opportunity gap of the COVID-19 pandemic, few studies have quantitatively examined the impact of this model. Moreover, the literature examining the impact of community schools still suffer from selection bias. This study attempts to better estimate the impact of community schools by using propensity score weighted analyses to address the imbalance across treatment and control groups. Using data from three community schools in a large, urban school district on the East Coast, we found that students who received services through their community schools were associated with higher rates of attendance compared to students who did not receive services through their community schools.
