The voices of people with bodies on the margins (whether very large or very small) are missing from conversations about teaching and teacher education. Through collaging as a form of self-study, we interrogate how our presence and role as teacher educators may impact our pedagogical practices and identity development of our own students. As our scholarship is ongoing and unfolding, we discuss three initial insights: (a) our bodies are a visible part of our identity, but not spoken about as a form of othering; (b) we serve as positive and successful role models as we are physically present in academic spaces; and (c) our experiences in and performances of our bodies inform our pedagogical perspectives and choices.
