Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate perspectives between the teachers of color and white teachers about race related to the field and coursework. The data includes focus group interviews and follow-up questions. The paper highlights one of the themes about race between teachers of color and white teachers. The teachers of color mentioned being left out of group assignments and fieldwork when paired with white teacher candidates. A white teacher also discussed how the faculty mistreated teachers of color candidates compared to white teacher candidates. Find a more detailed description of the results in the paper, along with suggestions from the participants for how to improve teachers of color experiences.
