This study examined university students’ perceptions about reporting bullying within the university, using the theory of planned behavior (TPB), with a focus on attitudes, perceived subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The study includes 458 current students from four U.S. universities who were asked to imagine a bullying scenario and share their thoughts on it. Participants generally considered seeking help from a university authority figure as a viable strategy for handling bullying but doubted its effectiveness in stopping bullying. They preferred to handle bullying themselves and perceived the same to be the case for other students. While most had a positive view of their university's approach to handling bullying, they had limited knowledge about reporting procedures.
