A University System Transforming Teacher Preparation Through Initiatives to Recruit, Support, and Retain BIPOC Teachers (Poster 1)

Thu, April 11, 9:00 to 10:30am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 100, Room 118B

Abstract

This poster session will highlight the work of teacher education programs within a large U.S. state university system that are participating in a grant-funded statewide project that was launched in 2021 and is supported by a $3 million grant (2021-2024). The project is designed to support campuses in context-specific efforts focused on recruiting, supporting, and preparing and retaining Black, Indigenous and Teachers of Color to serve our state’s diverse student population. Each campus team has used improvement science methods to identify and understand problems, propose changes, and test the efficacy of those changes. Each team will share a poster that encapsulates their data-driven, collaborative improvement efforts towards developing and scaling innovative, effective, and equity-driven teacher preparation pathways and supports.
