Based on John Dewey's educational philosophy, this transformative study examines the impact of Outdoor Learning (OL) in the Upward Bound (UB) summer college program. Using mixed methods, facilitators' and students' experiences in the 16-day program are explored, initially showing confusion about OL but later embracing its transformative benefits in classrooms. The findings cover perceived benefits and barriers to implementing OL, OL's role within UB, and its potential transferability. The study holds implications for facilitators for enhancing learning, engagement, and OL implementation in UB college programs. Grounded in Dewey's principles, it promotes meaningful learning experiences and civic responsibility, providing insights into 959 UB programs and fostering a more equitable and transformative educational landscape for all learners.
