Abstract

In response to calls to foster public AI literacy driven by the growing impact of AI on society, this poster will establish AI literacy as a key digital literacy, summarize the current state of AI literacy research, articulate compelling AI literacy initiatives, and chart future research. Cross-cutting themes include inclusive AI literacy, the importance of ethics, and connections to data literacy. The presenters draw on human-computer interaction, information science, and learning sciences literatures to provide a foundational starting point for others who are beginning to participate in AI literacy scholarship.
