In Spring 2023, our team began a grant funded partnership between researchers and school teams to identify barriers to strengthening student-educator relationships and to co-develop improvement plans to address related problems of practice. This proposal highlights findings from year one of implementing an Improvement Science approach to address how contextual and cultural factors impact the expression and experience of developmental relationships. Our analysis shows how one school team draws on data and their experiences as educators to make problems of practice explicit and name how they may build greater capacity for inclusive and equitable developmental relationships.
