Fri, April 12, 9:35 to 11:05am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

The Doctor of Education (EdD) degree serves as a professional doctorate catering to scholarly practitioners engaged in addressing complex problems of practice with a focus on equity, ethics, and social justice. This exploratory study investigates the dissemination efforts of 11 EdD program alumni. Through semi-structured interviews, we explored the supports and challenges they encountered while pursuing their dissertation dissemination goals. Preliminary analysis revealed that participants who successfully disseminated their findings engaged in ongoing conversations with their organizations, while those who faced barriers expressed struggles in securing leadership support and adapting to contextual changes. This research contributes to understanding the significance of disseminating research findings in organizational settings and offers insights for guiding future scholarly practitioners in their dissemination planning.
