This paper offers an illustrative study of both a novel theoretical framework – the Educational Displacement Model of Radicalization – and an empirical program funded through a federal Innovation Grant – Reimagine Resilience - that cultivates belonging, resilience, and social connectedness – all of which are protective factors against radicalization – in classrooms and schools. With the preventative power of educators and educational staff in terms of arresting and interrupting the pathway of radicalization in urgent need of awareness and recognition, this paper spotlights the powerful impact of a pioneering theoretical framework alongside a program bringing these frameworks to educators in service of the goal of supporting educators and educational staff in creating safer classrooms, schools, and communities across the United States of America.
