The present study describes the development, feasibility, and acceptability of a self-directed telehealth intervention designed to teach parents of children newly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) about the knowledge and critical skills to support their children at home. As part of a randomized-controlled trial, the intervention was delivered to 66 participants in two provinces in China. Results suggested that the intervention was feasible and acceptable to participants. Evaluation of implementation-related factors based on the PRECIS-2 framework resulted in an average score of 3.94 (on a scale of 1–5). Results suggested that the intervention can be a promising and accessible approach to empowering families immediately after their child’s diagnosis of ASD in Chinese societies.
