Courses relating to the use of mathematics knowledge including statistics courses are challenging, especially for minorities. Incorporating DEI case studies in statistics courses has the potential to foster a more inclusive and enriching learning experience for students. However, published articles related to DEI might not be directly suitable for statistics teaching. Current case studies are not DEI related. Therefore, in this study, we created five DEI-focused case studies by adapting analysis in five peer-reviewed articles that provided open data and used DEI components in their studies. By incorporating DEI-focused case studies, instructors can foster a deeper understanding of statistical principles while promoting a more diverse and inclusive research environment.
