Teachers’ Reflection on Their Goals as Professionals Through a Comparison of Then and Now

Abstract

The trajectory of how well teachers are professionally trained and grow throughout their career is of interest to educators, education administrators and policy makers. Despite numerous studies, much attention has been placed on how well teachers are equipped to teach well and bring positive student learning outcomes without paying attention to teacher goals and how they change over time. Thus, this study examined teacher goals especially by comparing how teacher goals change over time through a qualitative research approach.
