We were interested in how teacher ratings of their classroom demands and resources would be associated with job satisfaction and perceived levels of instructional support using data from a district-wide climate survey. Multi-level models with school characteristics at Level 2 and teacher characteristics and perceptions at Level 1 demonstrated that teachers’ appraisals of their occupational demands and resources were associated with job satisfaction and ratings of instructional support. Most of the variance was accounted for at the individual teacher level.
