The aim of this study is to examine the changing rhetoric of race in higher education through the case of scholars who were deported by the Nazi Regime and participated in the university reform in Turkey. The concerns raised by discussions of race in higher education make it critical to understand how the pursuit of justice can be established. By examining the changing rhetoric of race at the level of individuals, institutions, and states, the study aims to provide new perspectives to overcome the current challenges. The study concluded by applying a Skinnerian approach to the discourse analysis of autobiographical artifacts.
