When students in North Carolina’s Wake County Public School System are faced with circumstances that lead them to contemplate dropping out of school or face disciplinary action that could lead to long-term suspension, the SCORE Academy High School can help keep them on track to graduate. This paper evaluates the schools’ outcomes using qualitative data from informal interviews and focus groups and quantitative analyses of student profile data, course credits, and graduation rates. Findings reveal high enrollments of Black/African American and Hispanic/Latino students, which may shift as the district’s newly articulated equity policy helps reduce dropout and suspension disparities, strong relationships built from the use of Graduation Coaches and Restorative Practices, and the added value of a 5-year graduation rate.
