Sat, April 13, 7:45 to 9:15am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

This study explores five fifth-grade teachers’ choices about the history/social studies resources they use. Using verbal protocol methodology and elicitation technique, teachers discussed curriculum, teaching, and instructional choices. Findings indicate these teachers have freedom to make instructional choices. The findings have implications for elementary teacher preparation and continuing professional development.
