In this article, the author explores the narratives of six pre-service teacher candidates of different ethnic and racial identities in one newly formed University-Community College Partnership Program about the perspectives and preparation of future special educators. The findings highlight ways in which teacher candidates understand the intersection of race and dis/ability, as well as their engagement with critical frameworks in education, including intersectionality and DisCrit, after being introduced to these frameworks in class.
