Due to the integral nature of graduate student mentoring (Segura et al., 2011) and the increasing number of graduate students in America, it is critical to understand the current situation and develop intervention methods to provide our students with the assistance they need. There are many studies investigated graduate student mentoring in the university; however, there is not a systematic review of said literature. Therefore, this systematic review will provide the first overarching analysis of graduate student mentoring, its procedural history, the current status regarding the need for mentoring, and the best practices available to help alleviate that need.
