Youth Park Ambassador Training, Responsibilities, and Impact on the Community

Abstract

This presentation will describe the goals and objectives of the Park Ambassador program, which teaches youth ages 11-16 to maintain and program parks in their neighborhood. The Park Ambassador program is a paid internship and educational program to motivate youth to plan events, lead community clean up days and perform maintenance in their new neighborhood park. Attendees of this presentation will also hear from Park Ambassadors as they describe their role and their reflections on being a Park Ambassador.
