The Midwestern part of the United States does not provide enough support nor have safe spaces specifically; for Black LGBTQ+ youth. There are 47 major U.S. cities in the Midwest, and I found 50 organizations for LGBTQ+ youth, of the 50; 18 were focused intentionally on Black LGBTQ+ Youth. This landscape analysis was created to shed light on the need for and importance of safe spaces ability to assemble within the community and receive help for any mental health issues for Black LGBTQ+ youth. Those who work directly with students (k-12 teachers and administrators, staff & therapists), community activists, parents, and other mothers and fathers need to be able to advocate and direct LGBTQ+ youth to safe resources.
