The ECO-IN Project: Evaluating the Quality of School Inclusion

Sat, April 13, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

The contribution presents the construction and validation of an assessment scale for the quality of school inclusion called "Ecological Assessment Scale for Inclusion" (EASI). This tool was developed within the European Erasmus+ program-funded project named "ECO-IN Algorithm for New Ecological Approaches to Inclusion". The EASI was constructed and tested in four European countries: Italy, Romania, Lithuania, and Spain. Its aim is to have broad usage and dissemination, enabling each educational context to assess and introduce improvements within their inclusive school system. EASI is based on the principles of an ecological approach to evaluating an education system, involving a wide array of stakeholders from the educational community: school administrators, policy-makers, teachers, families, students, psychologists, and educators.
