The proposed study explores the application of different methods for learning from practice (LFP) within disciplinary-based professional learning communities (DIPLCs) in Israel. It focuses on the implementation of LFP methods and the experiences of DIPLC facilitators regarding LFP. The study also examines whether high levels of collaboration within a DIPLC are linked to frequent utilization of LFP methods. The study employed a mixed methodology, combining data from online questionnaires distributed among DIPLC participants (N=853) and facilitators (N=163) with insights from eight semi-structured interviews with DIPLC facilitators from diverse disciplines. Findings show that the majority of DIPLCs often employ various LFP methods. Facilitators recognized the significance of LFP in DIPLCs but highlighted the challenges they face when implementing them.
