This study presents a research-based curriculum designed for teaching the nature of science (NOS) to Latinx preservice teachers (LPTs). The curriculum development represents the third phases of our broad research project. In the first phase, we conducted a qualitative meta-synthesis, analyzing 71 articles from leading science education journals focused on teaching NOS to teachers and suggested elements of curriculum for NOS instruction. The second phase involved the collection and analysis of autobiographies from ten LPTs, uncovering critical factors influencing their science learning experiences. Building upon these two prior phases, we have formulated a culturally relevant pedagogy as our guiding approach to propose a NOS curriculum which is tailored to capitalize on the strengths of LPTs while addressing their specific needs.
