Teachers need opportunities to learn how to support students to develop effective digital evaluation strategies. We consider the opportunities for teacher learning present within one professional learning experience: debriefs after teachers rehearsed facilitating discussions about online source credibility. As teachers discussed the rehearsal during these debriefs, they focused on three distinct elements: first, how they experienced researching and reasoning about the credibility of sources themselves; second, how students reason about online source credibility and how best to support that reasoning; and finally, how to manage and facilitate discussions with students. This study suggests that rehearsals and, specifically, rehearsal debriefs are an avenue for opening up conversations about critical elements of teaching students to evaluate digital content.
