This research explored the interrelations among depression, emotions, daily experiences, and growth mindsets, specifically among Asian American university students. Utilizing Ecological Momentary Assessment, the study aimed to examine the dynamic nature of these relations and how a growth mindset might moderate them. The results indicated that daily experiences significantly influenced emotions, growth mindsets, and depression levels. Furthermore, a higher growth mindset was associated with lower depression levels on days with reduced positive emotions. Similarly, growth mindset moderated the relation between positive daily experiences and depression. These findings underscore the potential of implementing interventions that foster a daily growth mindset and enhance positive experiences, potentially improving students' mental health.
