Abstract

Because Asian Americans with disabilities are understudied, this research uses a single case study to unravel how different forms of oppression - ableism, racism, and patriarchy- intersect to marginalize and discriminate against Chinese American college students with dis/abilities. Using intersectionality, disability critical race theory and intersectional invisibility as analytic lenses, the research highlights one Chinese American college student’s contextualized, lived experiences in the US and her country of origin. We further argue that her transnational life illuminates the complexity of international invisibility.
