Artificial Intelligence (AI) is here. With an influx of questions, concerns, and anxieties about AI, are K-16 art educators ready to embrace or implement AI in their classroom settings? What might be the implications for art education? What are the potential benefits and risks for teaching and learning in K-16 educational settings? What might educators and students need to know? In 2021, UNESCO adopted the Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. This paper explores AI ethics while sharing examples and resources emerged from a research study funded by National Art Education Foundation. The session participants will explore insights from contemporary artists/engineers/scientists/scholars/educators from global communities while navigating pedagogical implications for K-16 art education.
