This study explores the personal conceptions of hip-hop as a pedagogical and therapeutic tool for P-20 educators. We sought to discover how hip-hop is integrated into their lives and professional practices. We also sought to know how it may impact the social and emotional well-being of students in P-20 classrooms. We used a qualitative design informed by a phenomenological approach to explore hip-hop as a pedagogical and therapeutic tool. Our study examined the connections, perspectives, and experiences of 10 participants who self-identified as P-20 educators and hip-hop enthusiasts. Using thematic analysis, we reduced their significant statements into five themes. We then provide recommendations for policy, research, and practice.
