Fri, April 12, 3:05 to 4:35pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

AERA (2024) calls for more attention to dismantle radical injustice, leadership preparation and reconceptualization. Our study informed leadership preparation and contribute to dismantling radical injustice in a global context. The study meta-analyzed publications derived from the International Successful School Principalship Project (ISSPP). We adopted qualitative meta-analysis involving meta-ethnography techniques to explore personal qualities in low socioeconomic areas (SES) and how they contribute to SPPs in the global context. The overall effect size included 36 schools with 35 principals from 41 empirical studies in 9 countries. We found six core categories of personal qualities across countries and cultures which contribute significantly to success: 1) cognitive ability; 2) disposition; 3) skill/capacity; 4) motivation; 5) social and emotional intelligence; 6) values/beliefs.
