Abstract

Adult education in Germany offers different ways to attain a degree for university entrance. School can be attended at day or in the evening; some schools also offer a blended learning course. As students enrolled in this course are experienced in distance education, it can be assumed that they were well-prepared for online learning due to the pandemic-induced school closures. Based on an online-survey, we analyzed students’ assessments of stress and learning during the crisis. Findings indicate that students in the blended learning course considered the changes in teaching and learning due to the pandemic to be less severe. Furthermore, students having a migration background and/or taking care of children indicated a higher stress level in times of school closures.
