This paper presents the results of the project “ISMI - An Intersectional Study on Multiple Inequalities” aimed at studying the diffusion of ableist discriminatory attitudes in the Italian population with an intersectional perspective on classism, racism and sexism. The project applies a participatory research method, involving a group of experts on disability. Starting from an international literature review on discriminatory attitudes and on the instruments already validated, and from the participatory activities on ableism, the research team is going to develop a new scale (ISMI Questionnaire). Finally, this scale validated in Italy can be used together with other scales for surveys at an international level, for example to detect crosses between ableist and racist, sexist and classist attitudes.
