The study aims to analyze the impact of learning environments on the acquisition of SL and on the language development of deaf children. This longitudinal study follows the development of the SL of 9 deaf children who attend the Bilingual Laboratory of the Support Center for the Deaf and Deaf Education Professionals in Paraná (CAS/Guarapuava – Paraná-Brazil). Weekly ludic-pedagogical activities are being carried out with the participation of deaf children, deaf teachers and and listeners teachers fluent in SL, and have as focuses on linguistic development in its comprehensive and expressive dimensions. The pedagogical-linguistic practices aimed at children in the process of acquiring SL, consider the particularities of this language, and will be able to provides better conditions for school success.
