Partnership models between afterschool programs, districts, and community-based organizations are uniquely positioned to examine oppressive systems and policies and to promote equitable experiences for all youth. The present study explored the equity efforts present between several different partnership models (n = 4). Employing a comparative case study approach, we interviewed a host of partners (n = 27) to investigate 1) what similarities and differences exist between partnership models that further or hinder equity initiatives, and 2) what challenges persist in promoting equity through partnership models. Our results contribute to the literature by furthering our understanding of dismantling inequities that exist within out-of-school contexts, and identifying how collaborative partnership models can best support students, families, and communities.
