Through the use of a critical quantitative framework, this paper outlines the two high schools that represent dual education in America. By conducting a comparative analysis of descriptive data from the two schools, one urban and the other suburban, traditional conclusions are challenged. The broader context in which the data is collected is discussed further through the use Stage’s (2007) call to question traditional methods and tenets of QuantCrit (Gillborn et al., 2018). Finally, another application of this work is discussed in concert with the Measures of Effective Teaching dataset (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, 2014). Overall, this paper is significant because it represents a major shift in the way in which quantitative research in education is conducted and communicated.
