This study elucidates how U.S. International Student Services Offices’ websites characterize Global Citizenship Education and its components. Through critical discourse analysis, it seeks to understand the strategies to nurture global citizenship among international students. We aim to shed light on the discursive practices employed by ISSOs and their potential impact on promoting GC values and cultivating a sense of responsibility and engagement towards global issues. Four themes emerged from our analysis: 1) "Living in the U.S.”, 2) Neutrality to Global Political Affairs, 3) Lack of GCEd Spaces, and 4) Questioning the Vision-Mission Statements. Our analysis reveals that HEIs seem to establish a U.S.-centric, colonial, and neoliberal GCEd. ISSOs should reflect a critical global perspective expected of an international center.
